The 6 Kalimas are brief phrases or sentences summarizing some of the general and basic principles of Islam.The 6 Kalimas are words related to the Islamic belief and faith, they are taken from some hadiths of the Prophet – Pbuh.
1st kalma: “al-Kalima al-Taiyba”
In Arabic, the first kalima is written:
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ
The 1st kalima in Urdu meaning:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں محمّدؐ اللہ کے رسول ہے
The first kalima in English meaning:
“There is none worthy of worship except God (Allah) and Muhammad is the messenger of God.”
2nd kalma: “al- Shahada”
In Arabic, the first kalima is written:
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَہٗ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُولُہٗ
The 2nd kalima in Urdu meaning:
میں گواہی دیتا ہو کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اسکا کوئی شریک نہیں اور میں گواہی دیتا ہو کہ محمد ﷺ اسکے بندے اور رسول ہیں
The 2nd kalima in English meaning:
which is: I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and his Messenger.
3rd kalma: “al-Tamjeed”
In Arabic, the third kalima is written:
سُبْحَان اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُلِلّهِ وَلا إِلهَ إِلّااللّهُ وَاللّهُ أكْبَرُ وَلا حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْم
The 3rd kalima in Urdu meaning:
اللہ کی ذات پاک ہے اور سب تعریفے اللہ کیلئے ہے اور اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور اللہ بہت بڑا ہے گناہو سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیک کام کرنے کی توفیق نہیں مگر کی جانب سے جو بہت بلند اور عظمت والا ہے۔
The 3rd kalima in English meaning:
“Glorying Allah, which is saying: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might nor power except with God, the Exalted, the Great”
4th kalma: “al-Tawheed”
In Arabic, the forth kalima is written:
لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْىٖ وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ هُوَحَیٌّ لَّا يَمُوْتُ اَبَدًا اَبَدًاؕ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِؕ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُؕ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شیْ ٍٔ قَدِیْرٌؕ
The 4th kalima in Urdu meaning:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اسکا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کی بادشاہی ہے اور اس کے لیے تمام تعریفے ہے۔ وہ زندہ کرتا ہے اور وہ مرواتا ہے۔ اور وہ ہمیشہ کیلئے زندہ ہے وہ مرے گا نہیں عظمت اور بزرگی والا ہے ، بہتری اسی کے ہاتھ میں ہے اور ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔
The 4th kalima in English meaning:
“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, who has no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is the praise. He brings life and He causes death. In His Hand is all good, and He is Able to do all things”
5th kalma: “Istighfaar”
In Arabic, the fifth kalima is written:
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهِ رَبِّىْ مِنْ كُلِِّ ذَنْۢبٍ اَذْنَبْتُهٗ عَمَدًا اَوْ خَطَا ًٔ سِرًّا اَوْ عَلَانِيَةً وَّاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ مِنَ الذَّنْۢبِ الَّذِیْٓ اَعْلَمُ وَ مِنَ الذَّنْۢبِ الَّذِىْ لَآ اَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوْبِ وَ سَتَّارُ الْعُيُوْبِ و َغَفَّارُ الذُّنُوْبِ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِِّ الْعَظِيْمِؕ
The 5th kalima in Urdu meaning:
معافی مانگتا ہو اے میرے اللہ ہر گناہ سے جو میں نے جان بوجھ کر کی ہے یا بھول کر کی ہے ،در پردہ یا کھلم کھلا اور میں توبہ کرتا ہو اسکے حضور میں اس گناہ سے جو مجھے معلوم ہے اور اس گناہ سے جو مجھے معلوم نہیں،بے شک تو عیبوں کو جاننے والے اور عیبوں کو چھپانے والا ہے، اور گناہوں سے بخشنے والا ہے اور گناہوں سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیک کام کرنے کی طاقت اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے۔ جو عالی شان اور عظمت والا ہے۔
The 5th kalima in English meaning:
“Asking for Forgiveness, which is saying: I ask forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, for every sin I committed intentionally or wrongly, secretly or openly. And I repent to Him from the sin that I know and from the sin that I do not know. You are the Knower of the unseen, the One who cover the mistakes, the Forgiver of sins, and there is no might or power except by Allah, the Most High, and the Most Great”
6th Kalma: “Rad al-Kufr”
In Arabic, the sixth kalima is written:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَنْ اُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا وَّاَنَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ تُبْتُ عَنْهُ وَ تَبَرَّأْتُ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَ الْكِذْبِ وَ الْغِيْبَةِ وَ الْبِدْعَةِ وَ النَّمِيْمَةِ وَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَ الْبُهْتَانِ وَ الْمَعَاصِىْ كُلِِّهَا وَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَ اَقُوْلُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللهِؕ
The 6th kalima in Urdu meaning:
آے اللہ میں پناہ مانگتا ہو اس بات سے کہ میں کسی شے کو تیرا شریک بناو جان بوجھ کر،اور بخشش مانگتاہو میں تم سے اس کام کی جو میں جانتا نہیں ہواور میں نے اس سے توبہ کیا اور بیزار ہوا کفر سے، شرک سے، اور جھوٹ سے، اور غیبت سے، اور بدعت سے ، اور چغلی سے ، اور بے حیائی سے، اور بہتان سے اور تمام گناہو سے اور میں اسلام لایا اور میں کہتا ہوکہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور محمد ﷺ اللہ کے رسول ہے۔
